Today I get a call from my mom. She knew we had a busy week and she said that she wanted to drop off a dinner for us. I was excited to see what it was when I got home. Because she watches Lucy for us part of the work week, she has a key. We came home to a table set for two (napkins, place mats and all!) with beautiful flowers in the middle of the table...tulips, my favorite. After we got settled in from work and got Lucy fed we sat down to a meal and talked! We actually had a dinner conversation that consisted of a happy baby in a bouncy chair rather than us passing her between the two of us finishing dinner. We actually had a conversation about our days and life... it was so nice to have a surprise date night.
The neat thing was, with the flowers was a card. It was written in Grandma's handwriting of course, but it was written as if Lucy called up grandma because she wanted to surprise and treat her parents to a meal. It was so creative, thoughtful, and so enjoyed.
Thank you mom for this treat. I got tears in my eyes when I came home... it was the littlest thing, but made my day. I was overwhelmed with love. Now that I am a mom I can only understand part of the love that you have for me as your child. I have only known Lucy for four months, but I am consumed with her!! I know that being a mom for 29 years... that love is deep. Thank you for loving me mom. Thank you for your kind heart, your lightheartedness, your joy, and servant heart. We appreciate you so much watching Lucy for us and when I should be doing little things like this for you because how you help us out, you are doing it for me. I am so undeserving, but I do love it :)
I know I have said this a lot, I now understand a little bit of what the love my parents have for me after having Lucy. I also have a glimpse of the love our Heavenly Father has for us too. So blessed. So loved.

Spring Has Sprung

Well, It is beginning to look like spring... in my office anyways. Check these flowers out. I received them from a resident this week. I could not believe it. She said it was because I have been so helpful and nice to work with during her move! How generous! She said that some one once told her that it is nice to be nice to the nice...ha ha. I loved it! Again, it was one of those blessings that I definitely needed this week. It is so nice to feel appreciated and loved at your job. When things like this happen, I know I am right where I need to be!
Flower Frenzy Update
So, like I mentioned before about 'Freedom Flowers' were sold a our church holiday dinner and a craft show the next day. I am proud to report that we raised over $1700 for the A21 Campagin and to help break human trafficking around the world. God is so good, and I never would have imagined he would used this little craft idea into something amazing. There are many doors being opened for the future of this, and I am excited to see how God is going to use it.
Here are some pictures to show you some of the creations. If you are interested in purchasing one, let me know. It is for a great cause!
Flower Frenzy!
I was looking up the pickle recipe I used when pickling the last time. I realized that was the last time I sat down and blogged! I have missed my outlet here, but man... life has been SO busy. Anyone relating to me? Seeing that it is late fall, I am sure that means I will be in the house more, which probably means more baking and blogging!
Z and I have enjoyed a vacation, yard work, home improvements, family gatherings, and other events since I have last wrote. I also have enjoyed the website http://www.pinterest.com/ lately. Just another outlet to get the creative juices flowing. I would recommend getting on there if you haven't already!
I do want to take the opportunity while I am here to share what a couple of ladies and I from church are doing. It all started when two of us wanted to just get together and make flowers like what you see below.

Well, the flower making went into a flower making frenzy. We found ourselves experimenting with different fabrics and old clothes. They turned out so cute! Then we thought, what are we going to do with all these flowers?? All of us girls really enjoyed learning about the A21 Campaign at a recent ladies event at church (to best explain the organization, visit the website at http://www.thea21campaign.org/), and so... we are making the flowers to sell, and ALL the proceeds will go to A21! We are so excited as this little idea has exploded into something we never would have imagined.
We are calling the organization Freedom Flowers- a flower frenzy boutique to end human trafficking. Freedom Flowers now has a facebook page, and you can find that under my 'get linked.' We are so excited as God is opening doors to be a five holiday dinners, three different boutiques, and holiday shopping open houses all before the end of this year already! If you are interested in purchasing, want more information, or just want to check out what A21 is all about, let me know. Our ultimate goal is to raise awareness and make a difference with this organization.
I will make another page on my blog to post pictures of products and flowers as more and more are complete. We family have a free weekend that consists of just yard work and flower mkaing so I will get them up for sure! Thank you for your support and prayers during this adventure... we are excited to see what God is going to do!
Why not do what we can, to make a difference!
